Marches + Protests

WAAC has taken to the streets and other public spaces to demand a woman's right to choose abortion, and a full range of reproductive justice for women in NSW, throughout Australia and around the world!

On this page you'll find photographs and videos from events including the 2013 Sydney Anti-Foetal Personhood Rally in 2013, Sydney Women's March 2019, and Sydney International Women's Day March 2019.

Sydney International Women's Day March and Rally, 2019

WAAC was excited to join thousands of people at the Sydney International Women's Day March and Rally on 20th January, 2019.

This year, the Sydney IWD March commenced with speakers at Hyde Park and then marched to Belmore Park, followed by entertainment.

The amazing Asian Women at Work group led the march again this year, with drums and colourful pennant waving - truly inspirational!

here's something energising about sharing public space with thousands of others who want to work to make our community a better, safer place.

Thank you to our banner carriers and friends old and new - it is always a privilege to march with those who carry the WAAC banner, whether for a minute or for an hour!
